WAKEFIELD — Kenneth S. Makarewicz, 65, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, December 16, 2018, surrounded by his loving family at Winchester Hospital.

Born in Melrose on September 24, 1953, he was the son of the late Michael and Maria (Gudzevich) Makarewicz.

Mr. Makarewicz was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1971. He worked as an auto body mechanic at Ciro’s Auto Body and Malden Auto Body, both located in Everett.

Mr. Makarewicz is survived by his beloved wife Linda J. (Stevens) Makarewicz, loving father to his three daughters; Christine Hunt of N.H., Patricia Shiner and her husband Kevin of Peabody and Kendra Makarewicz of Wakefield. Also survived by his two brothers; Michael Makarewicz of Wakefield and David Makarewicz of Lawrence. He was a loving Papa to his five grandchildren. Mr. Makarewicz was predeceased by his brother, Robert Makarewicz.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
