HAVERHILL — Martha C. Coughlin, 89, of Haverhill and Del Ray Beach, Fla., formerly of Wakefield, died Friday, November 30, 2018 at Lawrence General Hospital.

Born in Amherst on September 20, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Earl and Ellen (Doran) Dickinson.

Mrs. Coughlin was raised in Melrose and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Melrose. She had been a middle school teacher at the Galvin Middle School in Wakefield for many years. She was a longtime Haverhill resident, having been in the area for 20 years and was also a part-time resident of Del Ray Beach, Fla. Mrs. Coughlin enjoyed gardening and reading.

She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas F. Coughlin. She was the loving mother of Thomas F. Coughlin Jr. of Fla., Maryellen Coughlin of Salem, N.H., Anne Marie Coughlin of Tewksbury, Catherine Coughlin of Haverhill, and Martha Jean Korkuc and her husband Robert of Amherst, N.H. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth Madden and Eleanor Dickinson. She was the grandmother of Daniel Sahagian, Jennifer Korkuc, and Ryan Korkuc.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment, St. Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill.
