Enjoyed craft fairs, collecting Annalee dolls, and knitting

WAKEFIELD — Ruth M. Crivello, 85, of Wakefield, died on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at the Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center in Medford.

Born in Malden on May 14, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Silliker and Margaret (McClellan) MacGibbon.

Mrs. Crivello was a graduate of Malden High School. She had been a Wakefield resident since 1953. Mrs. Crivello had worked for Harmonic Drive in Peabody and was a member of the Faith Evangelical Church in Melrose.

Ruth was a loving, kind, thoughtful, nurturing mother and grandmother. In her free time, she enjoyed going to craft fairs, collecting Annalee dolls, knitting and quilting. She could be seen with a camera at every school, sporting, and music event for all her grandchildren.

Ruth loved to travel but her favorite place to be was at her condo at Weirs Beach, N.H. each summer with her family. She enjoyed hanging out at the pool, taking walks, watching movies, and could always be found at Funspot playing arcades. Family meant so much to her. She was the best and will be greatly missed.

She was the wife of the late Alvarino Crivello and Charles Donaldson. Ruth was the loving mother of Deborah Houghton and her husband Kenneth of Wakefield, Susan Donaldson of North Reading, Jill Treacy and her husband Thomas of Wakefield, Charles Donaldson of Quincy and Jeff Donaldson and his wife Elizabeth of North Reading. She was the sister Robert MacGibbon of Wakefield and Margaret Hardy of Melrose. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren and her six great-grandchildren. Ruth was predeceased by her stepdaughter Sandra Zarella, her two brothers; David MacGibbon and Donald MacGibbon and her two sisters; Patricia Meuse and Dorothy O’Keefe.

Funeral service will be private. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home in Wakefield.
