WAKEFIELD — The Town Christmas Tree was placed at The Rockery yesterday, where it will be on display throughout the holiday season. The spruce tree was donated by local resident Barbara Paris. The tree grew in her back yard at 11 Forrester Rd.

According to DPW Forestry Division Supervisor Dennis Fazio, as of a couple of weeks ago, he didn’t even have a tree to use. Then, he got a call from Barbara Paris.

“I hear you need a tree,” she said, and offered to donate the large spruce in her yard to be the 2018 Town Christmas Tree. Forestry Division workers went and got the tree yesterday and transported it on a DPW truck with a police escort from Forrester Road to its new home at the Rockery.

The tree will be decorated with lights in time for Friday evening’s Lighting of the Lights.
