BOSTON — Two representatives from Wakefield Memorial High School competed at the 33rd annual New England Indoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Bradley Diaz raced the 600 meters to cap off a strong sophomore season. He started to gain momentum in the event late in the season and ended up with a 7th place finish with an impressive time of 1:22.66 at New England’s.

Diaz’s time is 2nd all time in Wakefield, only behind school record holder Jackson Gallagher (Class of 2015). His performance ranks No. 9 overall and No. 2 among sophomores in Massachusetts. His time is No. 4 for sophomores in the U.S.

Olivia Fetherston jumped 5’5” and ended up 7th overall at the New England Championship. Fetherston is now heading to Nationals. She will jump on Friday, March 13 at the Armory in New York.

Fetherston has already rewritten the Wakefield Memorial High School record board with her season best jump of 5’6” earlier this season and will look to raise that even higher at Nationals.
