15 to compete at the Dobbins Courts this weekend

WAKEFIELD — A total of 15 players are registered for the Geoffrey Walter Jr. Tennis Tournament, which will be held tomorrow and Sunday at the Dobbins Courts at Wakefield Memorial High School.
Those registered are: Lucas Smith, Olivia Goff, Julia Carino, Justin Carino, Amelia Semmes, Juliet Semmes, Toni Marie Whitson, Johnny Whitson, Jack Palmer, Ben Palmer, Audrey Callahan, Sophia Callahan, Lauren Calabrese, Ian Schermerhorn and John Fitzgerald.
This is the 16th year of the event being held in Geoffrey’s name. There are two age brackets for the boys and one for the girls.
The tournament is geared for both beginner and more advanced players, and will include consolation matches to ensure plenty of play for all participants. Registration is $5 per player and includes a tournament t-shirt.

Toni Marie Whitson vs. Juliet Semmes at 8:30 a.m.

Olivia Goff vs. Whitson/Semmes winner at 11 a.m.
Sophia Callahan vs. Lauren Calabrese – Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
Audrey Callahan vs. TBD – Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
Under 14 Boys (4)
Ben Palmer vs John Fitzgerald at 8:30 a.m.
Johnny Whitson vs. Justin Carino at 8:30 a.m.

Players are asked to bring two cans of tennis balls and if possible, wear shorts with pockets, to keep play moving.
