Six boys, three girls honored for excellent seasons

WAKEFIELD — The Middlesex League boys’ and girls’ cross country coaches met recently to make this year’s All-Star selections in both the Freedom and Liberty divisions.

Wakefield Memorial High School had six runners named from the boys’ team and three named from the girls’ team.

The All-Stars from the girls’ team were: senior Gillian Russell, junior Isabella Kehoe and sophomore Olivia Lucey. The three student-athletes picked for Wakefield tied the same number selected for both Stoneham and Melrose. The Middlesex League Meet champion Woburn Tanners had the most selections with four. 

The All-Stars from the boys’ team were: seniors Riley Brackett, Matt Greatorex and Tommy Lucey, junior Rohan Singhvi and sophomores Tanner Jellison and Matt Roberto. The Freedom Division leaders and Eastern Mass. Div. 3 State Champion Warriors had the most selections amongst all the teams in the Middlesex League. The next closest was Lexington with four.
