Hammond, Sallese, Custodio, Harrington honored
WAKEFIELD — The Middlesex League girls’ cross country coaches met recently to make this year’s all-star selections in the Freedom and Liberty divisions.
Four-time M.L. Freedom division champion Wakefield led the way with four all-stars in the Freedom division. The four all-stars were seniors Emily Hammond and Lauren Sallade, junior Sara Custodio and sophomore Abby Harrington.
Watertown was next in the Freedom division with three all-stars named while Burlington had two selections. Melrose and Stoneham each had one all-star chosen.
In the M.L. Liberty division, Lexington led the way with four all-stars selections, while Woburn had three. Belmont and Reading each had two all-stars named and Winchester had one.
Two Lexington runners and one Woburn runner receivied the Phil Riley Award.
