Chapman honored at singles, Mello and Tanners selected in doubles

WAKEFIELD —The Middlesex League girls’ tennis coaches met recently to make this year’s all-star selections in both the Freedom and Liberty divisions.
For the tournament-qualifying Wakefield Memorial High girls’ tennis team, it had three all-stars named.
Abby Chapman, Jenna Mello and Haley Tanner were the three Warriors chosen. Chapman, a junior, was selected an all-star at singles. Mello, a junior, and Tanner, a sophomore, were named all-stars in doubles.
Burlington had two singles all-stars chosen and two doubles teams selected. Watertown and Melrose each had one all-star selected at singles, while Wilmington had a doubles team honored.
In the Liberty division, Arlington, Winchester, Lexington, Reading and Belmont each had one all-star named at singles. Winchester had two doubles teams selected, while Reading and Lexington had one doubles team each honored.
