WAKEFIELD — Wakefield Education Foundation (WEF) hosts the annual Celebration of Learning this Thursday evening at the Galvin Middle School Auditorium. The Celebration of Learning is an annual event where WEF, in partnership with the Wakefield Public Schools (WPS), recognizes individuals who exemplify the core values of their respective school by making outstanding contributions to foster those values. Now a 22 year tradition, the Celebration of Learning is an inspirational event and the highlight of WEF’s year. Awards this year include Community Awards and the district-wide WPS Impact Award.
The Wakefield Educational Foundation funds enrichment programs for every school in the district. Without WEF funding these programs wouldn’t be possible. This school year WEF funded $25,000 in grants to support programs such as Theater Arts Productions at the High School, Tower Gardens and MakerSpace at Galvin, Museum of Science Traveling Programs at Galvin and Dolbeare, Sensory Garden at Greenwood, Designing Windmills at Walton, Garden Project at Woodville and Bubble Workshop and Phonemic Awareness materials at Doyle.
