Martin-obit-webMELROSE — William B. “Bill” Martin, 52, of Melrose, died at home on Nov. 30.

Bill was born in Stoneham, raised in Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1982.

He was a lifelong Melrose resident and worked as a computer trainer for several years at Americorps and he also volunteered for the Red Cross for over 20 years.

Bill was very active at the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church in Melrose and was in the church choir.

He enjoyed camping in Bartlett, N.H., singing, fishing, Storyland, joking around and going to the library. Bill’s family was the most important part of his life.

He was the loving son of Marcia E. (Easson) and the late David J. Martin Jr. of Melrose. He was the caring brother of Lois A. Martin of Melrose, David W. Martin and his wife Betsy and Susan E. Gilman and her husband Chris, all of New Hampshire. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and one grand niece.

Visiting hours were held at the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church, 355 Franklin St., Melrose on Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.

Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
