MELROSE — The Recreation Department’s annual Winter Festival will take place on Thursday, Feb. 18 from noon-2:30 p.m. at the Mount Hood Golf Course. There is no admission fee for the Winter Festival.

Residents are invited to celebrate the winter at Mount Hood Memorial Park. The Recreation Department will be offering games, activities, entertainment, music, face painting, ice skating (weather permitting), snow shoeing, trail walking and hot chocolate. There will also be a huge free barbecue for residents who attend. The Recreation Department also has fun surprises planned.

All public parking for the event will be held at Melrose Incarnation Church on Upham Street. A shuttle bus service will transport all attendees to and from the event from noon – 2:45 p.m. No public parking is allowed at Mount Hood for this event. Families are permitted to drop-off passengers at Mount Hood, but they will not be permitted to park or wait in their cars as this will block the shuttle service.
