WAKEFIELD — A 36-year-old Wakefield woman will be summonsed to court on charges of assault and battery after an incident at about 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Police said that a woman told them that she was sitting on the front steps of a home on Richardson Street when a car pulled up and a woman in the vehicle began yelling at her.

The woman then allegedly exited the vehicle and approached the woman on the steps and struck her in the head with her hand. Police said that it appeared to be an ongoing dispute between acquaintances. A court hearing will be scheduled.

A 32-year-old Saugus man will be summonsed to court for driving with a suspended license and not having a current inspection sticker after police stopped the car he was driving near Main and Richardson streets at about 8:45 Friday morning. Officer Russell Carman was monitoring traffic near Water and Smith streets when he ran the plate number of a blue Subaru Impreza that drove past his cruiser. He determined that the registered owner had a suspended license and expired inspection sticker.

At about 4:30 p.m., on Friday, police went to Main and Crescent streets to check on a man reported to be staggering on the sidewalk. Police determined that the man was drunk but he refused offers of medical attention and other services. He was given a ride home by police and left in the custody of his sober girlfriend.

At about 5 p.m. Friday, a caller reported fraudulent activity on his Bank of America account involving a $2,800 listed to a name that he did not recognize. The matter is under investigation.

At about 8:30 p.m. on Friday a Nahant Street resident reported having a confrontation with a neighbor over a loose dog. The caller was advised of his rights and told to follow up with the Animal Control Officer.

At about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday, a caller reported someone playing basketball in the area of Harrington Court. The hoopster was advised wait until daylight to resume playing.

At about 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, a Main Street resident was taken to Winchester Hospital after he reported taking too many pills.

Staff at a group home on Lafayette Street reported two missing teenage girls just after midnight on Sunday. Jenna Fitch, described as a 17-year-old white female was last seen by the group home staff on Main Street in downtown Wakefield. Another juvenile, Kayla Seerattan, also 17, was last seen in Lynn but was not found when staff went to pick her up. As of this morning, police had not received any reports that the girls had been located.

At about 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning, police received a report of a car break in the parking lot of Northeast Metro Tech on Hemlock Road. The caller had reportedly left the 2008 Honda Pilot there while going for a walk and returned to find the rear window smashed. It did not appear that anything was stolen.

Ay about 3 p.m. on Sunday, Police, the Fire Department and Action Ambulance responded to a minor accident at the bottom of the Exit 39 off ramp. Police said that a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado rear-ended a 1999 Toyota Camry. No injuries were reported.

At about 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, a caller from Franklin Street reported a missing 16-year-old girl. Rachel Wittkowski, described as  just over five feet tall with red hair and wearing black yoga pants and a white tank top. A be-on-the-lookout was put out to surrounding cities and towns and entered into the NCIC database.

At about 2 a.m. this morning, a caller reported a man engaged in possibly suspicious activity on Charles Street. Police located the man who explained that he was exercising.

The Fire Department responded to 26 calls over the weekend, 16 of which were for medical aid.

At about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, firefighters were called to Route 128 northbound between exits 39 and 40 for a three-car crash. One occupant was trapped inside a Volkswagen Jetta and it took firefighters using the Jaws of Life about 10 minutes to get the victim out of the car. The victim had a severe ankle injury but it was not known if the patient was transported to the hospital. At least one vehicle was towed.

At about 10 a.m. on Sunday, Police, Fire, Action Ambulance and State Police responded to a single car crash on the 128 off ramp at Exit 41. The sole occupant refused medical treatment but the car was towed.

At 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, the Fire Department responded to a crash on Route 128 northbound between exits 39 and 40. The occupant of the car refused medical treatment.
