MELROSE — It was another successful season for the Melrose Youth Wrestling team, 5-6th grade division, who qualified a number of athletes for post season competition.

“We had a very young team this season, half our squad was staffed with 5th and 6th graders. But we still did all right,” confirms coach Ken MacIntosh.

Melrose placed third in the league’s Div. 1 section while competing against the best teams in the Northeast regional. All the team’s wrestlers qualified for the All State tournament in February.

After a successful appearance five moved on to the All New England Championship on March 15 where they medaled. They included CJ Boyce who placed fifth, Jackson Curran seventh, Hunter Adrian third, Sean Herbert second and Stephen MacIntosh second.
