WAKEFIELD — A 19 year old from Revere and two 17 year olds from East Boston have been charged with trespassing after police reportedly found them inside the old Winship Estate last night with flashlights and cans of spray paint.

Police were called to the unoccupied building on Mansion Road around 8:10 p.m. after a neighbor reported a truck parked in front of her home and said the people from the truck were inside the old Winship Estate.

Responding officers first saw flashlights from outside the mansion. When they entered it they said they found three young men inside. The interior smelled of fresh paint.

The suspects were carrying backpacks containing cans of spray paint.

Two will be summonsed to court for trespassing. Another also will be charged for defacing property.

Earlier in the evening, around 6:20 p.m., police were told other youths were heading up to the mansion. Police sent them on their way.

There are social media sites dedicated to abandoned properties, which may explain why the suspects came to Wakefield. There has also been at least one instance of youths posting a YouTube video of themselves “touring” the inside of the mansion.
