There will be prizes. Team awards for first through fourth place trophies awarded plus last place. First place will be $200, second place $150, third place $100, fourth place $50 and last place $20. The third is special award for the 31st year team award which goes to team who buys the most, but uses the least amount of mulligans (must bring unused mulligan tickets).

Every year for 30 years, the Boardwalk Open has raised money toward a good cause and  this year it is raising money for the Boston Wounded Veterans (https://theyfoughtweride.com) in memory of Kerri Arsenault’s brother Kirk Arsenault, who died tragically in a motorcycle accident a few months ago.

In addition, the tournament lost former players Mike Angelo, Mike DiStaula, and Bobby Moses’ brother John Moses, who all passed away. So in memory of all these players and friends, the Boardwalk Open is seeking extra donations for the American Cancer Society. It is doing a 50-50 raffle, selling mulligans, selling hole sponsorships, as well as other fundraising events to raise money. Ideas are welcome.

The special guest is singer songwriter Natalie Joly who will be performing on guitar and  piano for two hours from 3 to 5 p.m. The members of the Boardwalk Open encourage friends and family of Kirk, Mike, John and Michael and the players in the tournament to come by and contribute to the cause. The 31st annual party will be held at the Crystal Community Club from 1-6 p.m.. There will be a full sit down dinner with beef, ham, turkey and the fixings.

Hole sponsorships are available for $100 each. Extra  donations are welcome. To enter or for information call Jim Joly at 781-771-3781 or 781-245-2452, e-mail jjoly@boardwalkrealestate.com or drop off entry fee, name and phone number at 21 Albion St., Wakefield or 348 Main St., Reading. Checks are acceptable made payable to Jim Joly. If you don’t have a team, don’t worry, we will put you on one.
