NORTH READING 一 Police Chief Michael Murphy announces that three new officers have joined the North Reading Police Department.

Officers Michael Germano, Meaghan Hudson, and Jonathan Romeo were sworn in on Monday morning, June 27, during a ceremony held in the Department’s Henry J. Purnell Training Room.

OFFICER JONATHAN ROMEO

Officer Jonathan Romeo is a 2015 graduate of North Reading High School. He is a decorated member of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving from 2016 to 2019. Officer Romeo graduated from the police academy on June 24, and has now begun his field training.

OFFICER MEAGHAN HUDSON

Officer Meaghan Hudson is a 2016 graduate of Wakefield Memorial High School. Officer Hudson graduated from the Merrimack College Police Academy in April, and received her master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Merrimack College in May. Officer Hudson has been in field training since the end of April.

OFFICER MICHAEL GERMANO

Officer Michael Germano is a 2015 graduate of Stoneham High School. In August, Officer Germano received his master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Merrimack College, and he graduated from the Merrimack College Police Academy in April. Officer Germano has been in field training since the beginning of June.

“I am pleased to officially welcome Officers Hudson, Romeo, and Germano. They are extremely capable individuals who I am confident will go above and beyond for the town of North Reading,” said Chief Murphy.

“Each officer possesses outstanding character, and their values are consistent with those of our Department. They’re a great fit and I’m confident they’ll be valuable members of our community for many years,” the chief added.
