Hammond honored at singles, Calnan and Sellers selected in doubles
WAKEFIELD — The Middlesex League boys’ tennis coaches met recently to make this year’s all-stars selections in both the Freedom and Liberty divisions.
The Wakefield Memorial High boys’ tennis team had three players chosen in the balloting. Senior Adam Hammond was named an all-star at singles in the Freedom division, while senior Chris Calnan and sophomore Noah Sellers were chosen in doubles.
Melrose led the way in the M.L. Freedom division with two singles players named all-stars and two doubles. Burlington was next with two singles players and a doubles team honored and Wilmington had one singles player selected as an all-star.
In the M.L. Liberty division, Lexington had four singles players chosen as all-stars along with two doubles teams to lead the way in that division.
Winchester had two singles players and two doubles teams honored, while Reading had one singles player and one doubles team attain all-star status. Belmont had one singles player selected as an all-star.
