An avid car enthusiast with American Muscle being his favorite

SALEM, N.H. — Peter Moretti, Jr., 57, of Salem, N.H. (formerly of Wakefield) passed away suddenly on Thursday, Oct., 27, at his home. He was born on June 4, 1965 in Wakefield.

Peter was born and resided in Wakefield until he got married and moved to Salem, N.H. in his mid-twenties. He was a graduate of the Wakefield Memorial High School, Class of 1983. He continued his education receiving a degree in Computer Science from Salem State College.

Peter retired recently from Market Basket as their IT Specialist after 15 years of service. Prior to that he worked for HP for a few years and the family business, Moretti Construction Company, for many years along side his father Peter Sr. In recent months he kept himself busy doing odd construction jobs while planning his retirement move to their home in Lake Havasu, Arizona with his wife and daughter, Tori, who was the love of his life and his world.

Peter was an avid car enthusiast with American Muscle being his favorite. His 1969 Camaro SS was one of his prize possessions of almost 40 years. In his younger years he and his father would build and restore cars together and attend car shows entering their custom built 1969 Corvette Stingray that won several titles in the World of Wheels circuit back in the early 80’s. Peter could always be found tinkering with something whether it be on his cars, house, or helping others.

Peter is survived by his wife, Julie (Sheldon) Moretti, his daughter Victoria “Tori” Moretti, his father Peter Moretti, Sr. of Wakefield, his sister Anna Moretti of Wakefield, his God son Jacob Sartanowicz of Wakefield, his in-laws Robert and Carol Sheldon of Salem, N.H.
