Enjoyed traveling, the beach life and gardening
PEABODY — Patricia Joan (Casey) Amirault, of Peabody, formerly of Melrose, died peacefully, surrounded by loving family on December 1. She was born in Melrose on September 6, 1932 to the late Joseph and Mildred (Reynolds) Casey. Patricia was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1951.
Patricia worked for many years at the family business, the former Casey Florist Company of Melrose, as an owner and wedding specialist. Her artistic abilities delighted many brides over her extensive career. She enjoyed many trips to Boothbay Harbor Maine and Cape Cod with her young family and loving, late husband John (Louie). She and Louie travelled extensively to the Caribbean and Europe. They moved to Conomo Point in Essex after selling their home of many years on Prospect St. in Melrose. At the Point, they enjoyed the beach life, boating, bridge club, gardening, decorating and a few good mai tais downtown. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Patricia was the beloved wife of the late John Louie Amirault for over 60 years. Devoted mother of Karen Amirault (wife of Tom Lapham); Richard Amirault (husband of JoAnne Ryan); John Timothy “JT” Amirault (husband of Patricia Darling); Suzanne DiMartino (wife of Tom DiMartino); and Tom Amirault (husband of Evamarie Flower). Caring grandmother of Holly Polito and her husband Marc; the late Nicholas Amirault; Sidney Corren; Daniel Amirault and his wife Stevie; Michael Amirault and his wife Lynelle; Jeffrey and Cat Amirault; Max DiMartino; and Julian, Jarrett, Jayden and Jyles Amirault. Proud great-grandmother of Lily and Ryan Polito; Spencer, Henry, Rosemary and Dax Amirault. Loving sister of George Casey and his wife Ann. She is also survived my many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours were held on Wednesday, December 6 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. A funeral Mass was held at 11:30 a.m. following the visitation at St. Mary’s Church, 4 Herbert St., Melrose. Interment followed the mass at Wyoming Cemetery, 205 Sylvan St., Melrose. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations were made to the Nicholas Ryan Amirault St. Mary’s School Scholarship Fund at 16 Eisenhower Ave., Beverly, MA 01915.
