This morning the Galvin Middle School was placed in modified lockdown in order to investigate a statement made by a student in the hallway. A modified lockdown means that principal Adam Colantuoni communicated to faculty that they were to keep all students in their current classrooms until further notice.

Wakefield Police Deputy Chief Craig Calabrese and School Resource Office Kelly Tobyne partnered with the school administration and deemed the situation safe for the school to resume normal operations after about 30 minutes.

A previously scheduled early release meant that Galvin students were released at 11:30 today.
