Intensive care nurse; active member of St. Maria Goretti

LYNNFIELD — Carol A. Drislane, 73, of Lynnfield died on Thursday, October 15 at the Lynn Union Hospital.

Born in Lynn on November 11, 1941, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Dorothy E. (Dwyer) Sheehan.

Mrs. Drislane was a graduate of Lynn English High School and Essex Agricultural School of Nursing. She worked in the Intensive Care Unit at the former J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody. Mrs. Drislane had been a Lynnfield resident for the past 43 years. She was a very active member of St. Maria Goretti Church and had been a coordinator for the Lynnfield collaborative for many years. Mrs. Drislane was also a member of the Lynnfield Red Hats and “a friend of Bill.”

She was the wife of David W. Drislane. Mrs. Drislane was the mother of Kelly S. Fleese and her husband Kevin of Manchester, N.H.; David W. Drislane, Jr. and his wife Erin of Danville, N.H.; Barbara Anne Drislane of Salem, N.H.; Cynthia Tighe of Brighton; Suzanne Powell of Salem, N.H.; William F. Drislane and his wife Virginia of Dunstable and the late Scott Annis and Linda Perry. She was the sister of William T. Sheehan III and his fiancée Caroline McCarron of Peabody. Mrs. Drislane is also survived by her 13 grandchildren.

Her funeral was held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday followed by a funeral Mass at St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield. Visitation for relatives and friends was held at the funeral home on Monday. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.
