LYNNFIELD — The Wakefield High golf team honored their five seniors before a 57-15 victory over Saugus in the regular season finale on Oct. 8 at King Rail Reserve in Lynnfield.

With that victory, the Warriors finished the regular season with an overall record of 9-4-1. Wakefield clinched the Middlesex League Freedom Division title in their final league victory over Watertown on Sept. 30.

The Warriors haven’t lost a match since Sept. 5, finishing the season on a 6-0-1 run.

Wakefield will now get ready for the Div. 2 North Sectional Tournament, which will take place tomorrow at Brookline Golf Course.

Seniors Luke Greif, Daegan Pothier, Sam Seidman, Alex Stone and Henry Brown started for the Warriors, playing in spots 1-5 against Saugus. Each player was victorious as Greif and Pothier won 6-3, Seidman won 5-4, Stone won 7.5-1.5 and Brown won 7-2.

“It was great to celebrate our five seniors on senior night,” said head coach Chris Keane. “I was happy that they all got to start the match and end their careers with a win. They are a great group who leads by example and we’re going to miss their leadership next season.”

Patrick Maloney, Michael Yianacopolus and Brayden Myette also had victories against Saugus.
