ObitRing-webWAKEFIELD — Arthur L. Ring, 97, of Wakefield died on Thursday, Jan. 7 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield.

Born in Newport, N.H. on Aug. 8, 1918, he was the son of the late Harold and Laura (Pinto) Ring.

Mr. Ring was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. He was a retired draftsman from G.E. in Lynn.

Mr. Ring enjoyed square dancing, golf and roller skating.

He was the husband of the late Mary A. (Musi) Ring. Mr. Ring is survived by his son Robert A. Ring and his wife Rolyn “Boo” of South Carolina; his two daughters, Judith A. Hubbard and her husband Peter and Beverly M. Carney and her husband John, all of Wakefield; his brother Harold Ring of Saugus; his two sisters, Shirley Waisnor and Lois Parr, both of Wakefield, and his five grandchildren: Heather Carney, Karen Pearl, Susan Margerison, Jason Ring and Amy Bennett. He is also survived by his 10 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Robert Ring and Theodore Berns.

Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m.

Visitation for relatives and friends at the Funeral Home on Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
