LYNNFIELD — Break out the crayons, kids! The Lynnfield Villager is sponsoring a coloring contest just for you!
If you like ice cream (and who doesn’t have a sweet tooth?), you could win a $50 gift certificate to Meletharb’s Ice Cream!
How? Just stop by the Villager’s sponsorship table at Townscape’s Geraniumfest and Kids Day on Saturday, May 21 and pick up our entry form.
We’ll have plenty of crayons on hand at the fair for you to use. Or take your entry home and mail it back us or drop it off in person (26 Albion St., Wakefield), by the Wednesday, June 1 deadline.
We chose a patriotic theme in honor of Armed Forces Day, which is also being celebrated on Saturday.
Armed Forces Day was begun 1950 as a day to say thanks to all of the servicemen and servicewomen currently serving our country in any branch of the military — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. They keep us safe and secure 24/7 every day of the year.
One winner will be selected from each age category:
• Children 6 years old and under
• Children 7 to 12 years old.
In addition to the $50 gift certificate to Meletharb’s ice cream, each winner will also be awarded a one-year gift subscription to the Villager for their parents.
The two winners will have their photograph published in the Villager with their winning entries. The winners will be announced in the Wednesday, June 8 edition of the Lynnfield Villager. Good luck!
