LYNNFIELD — Arthur C. Funai, 96, of Lynnfield, died on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Union Hospital in Lynn.
Born in Lynn on September 3, 1919, he was the son of the late Cesare and Norina (Conte) Funai.
Mr. Funai was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1937. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Valladolid Council #70 of Lynn as well as a life member of the North Shore Old Car Club and the Lynnfield Historical Society.
Mr. Funai was a retired mechanical engineer from General Electric in Lynn. He was a member of Saint Maria Goretti Church in Lynnfield.
He was the father of Nathan Funai of Lynn, Steven McDonough of Wakefield, N.H., and Donald McDonough and his wife Heather of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Mr. Funai was the former husband of Janice L. (Sheppard) Funai of Reading. He was the brother of the late Henry Funai, Catherine Rowen and Gusta Lodi. Mr. Funai is also survived by five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two nieces and two nephews.
His funeral service was held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday evening. The service included visitation for relatives and friends prior to the service. Interment was private.
