Busby-obit-webMELROSE — Nancy L. (Kemp) Busby, 83, of Melrose, passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on July 3.

Nancy was born in East Boston on May 20, 1933 to the late Walter and Edna (Adams) Kemp. She was raised in East Boston, attended East Boston schools and moved to Melrose in 1961.

Nancy was a homemaker who loved to cook, entertain and spend time with friends and family. She was also a member of the Moose Family Center in Woburn.

Mrs. Busby was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late George T. Busby. She was the loving mother of Donna L. Connolly and her husband Thomas Jr. of Sanford, ME, and Patricia A. Waters and her husband Daniel of Swampscott. She was the devoted grandmother of Alicia Rowe and her husband Steven, Heather Miller, Stephanie Waters, Thomas Connolly III, Jeffrey Connolly and Matthew Connolly. She was the cherished great grandmother of Dylan Connolly, Christopher and Samantha Rowe. She was the caring sister of the late Elizabeth O’Connor, Barbara Surette and Jo-Ann Keyes. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, July 6, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Thursday, July 7, at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, Herbert Street, Melrose at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.

Interment in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
