WAKEFIELD — A 63-year-old Woburn man will be summonsed to court for vandalism of property after he allegedly vandalized the automobile of a Greenwood business owner sometime yesterday. Police were called to Greenwood beauty salon at about 1 p.m. where a woman told them that she had gone out to her car and found ice cubes on the hood of the car. She said that she could also smell gasoline when she turned on the car’s heat.
The woman said that several weeks ago she had had problems with a female employee who was subsequently terminated. After reviewing security camera footage related to the vandalism, the woman told police that she recognized a man who she knew to be a friend of the woman who was terminated. That man will be summonsed to court.
At about 8 a.m. yesterday, a caller reported a man sleeping in a sleeping bag in Moulton Park. Police checked on the man and gave him information on shelters.

Just after 4 p.m. yesterday, a caller reported two carloads of youths walking toward the abandoned Winship property on Mansion Road. Responding police found no one the area.

At about 4:30 p.m. yesterday, a Coolidge Park resident notified police of a possible case of identity fraud. The woman said that she received a letter from PayPal alerting her that someone had tried to use her identity to open an account. The woman said that she had never opened a PayPal account.

Just after 5:15 p.m., Police, the Fire Department and Action Ambulance responded to a crash on Broadway. One individual was taken by ambulance to Lahey Medical Center in Burlington.

At about 6:45 p.m., a man reported a gray bag that appeared to be suspicious on the sidewalk in front of the library. Police found the bag to contain clothing possibly belonging to a known individual.

At about 7:30 p.m. last night, police helped to locate a missing child on the West Side.

At about 1:30 a.m. this morning, police found an unoccupied vehicle in a lot on Bay State Road with its engine running and lights on. Police saw no one in the area and turned off the car and the lights.

A rash of overnight car breaks has police once again advising local residents to lock their cars at all times.
At about 7:30 a.m. yesterday, a 2012 Mercedes was reported to have been entered overnight on Eaton Street. A small amount of cash was stolen. The vehicle had been unlocked.
Just after 11 a.m. yesterday, a Kathy Lane resident called police to report a car break. The owner of the 2013 Jeep said the unlocked vehicle had been entered sometime over the previous night. Some loose change appeared to be all that was taken.
At about 11:30 a.m. yesterday, police received a report of a car break on Mitchell Lane. The owner of a 2008 Honda Ridgeline said that the car was unlocked and some loose change was stolen.
At about 8 p.m., an Eaton Street resident reported finding the glove box of their 2008 Honda Pilot open. It did not appear that anything had been stolen.
