NAPLES, Fla. — Kenneth B. Alexander, 68, of Naples, Florida, formerly of Wakefield, died Friday, March 23, 2018 in Florida.

Born in Arlington on December 24,1949 he was the son of Edward J. Alexander of Bradford and the late Louise G. (Martin) Alexander.

Mr. Alexander was born and raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1967. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam era. He returned home to Wakefield and joined the Wakefield Fire Department in 1976, where he remained until his retirement in 2005. He had been a longtime member of the Wakefield Lodge of Elks (47 years) and was a member of their House Committee; he was also a member of the West Side Social Club.

Mr. Alexander thoroughly enjoyed all sports, and especially enjoyed watching his sons play baseball and hockey. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Beverly Country Club and also worked part time at the Bear Hill Golf Club in Stoneham. Shortly after his retirement, Mr. Alexander moved to Florida where he had been enjoying his leisure time and dedicating time to charity.

Mr. Alexander was the beloved husband of the late Theresa A (Romano) Alexander. He was the loving father of Sean E. Alexander and his wife Kerri-Ann O’Brien of Saugus and Kenneth R. Alexander and his wife Natalie of Westerville, Ohio. He was the cherished brother of Carol Muse and her husband Joseph of Bradford. He was the adoring grandfather of Felicia, Cole and Lyla Alexander. He is also survived by his companion, Kathy Pelly; his niece, Heather Muse and her husband Michael Burmeister of New York City; as well as many other loving family members, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be private.
