NORTH READING — Joseph P. Bertolino, Sr., 89, of North Reading and formerly of East Boston, died December 10, 2014, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford.
Born in Boston on October 24, 1925, he was the son of the late Pietro and Carmella (Chirco) Bertolino. He was raised and attended school in East Boston.
Joseph was a long time self–employed realtor in North Reading. He had been a resident of North Reading since 1958. He was an active member of St. Theresa’s Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council No. 4544. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of The Thomson Country Club.
Family members include his beloved wife of 68 years, Calogera “Cal” (Dasaro) Bertolino; his loving sons, Joseph P. Bertolino, Jr. of North Reading and Peter M. Bertolino and his wife Pamela of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina. He was the devoted brother of Angelo Bertolino and his wife Estelle of Stoneham, Richard Bertolino and his wife Esther of Peabody and Josephine Schott of East Boston. He was the brother of the late Frank Bertolino, Anna Allito, Anthony and Michael Bertolino and the cherished “grandpa” of Kristen M. G. and Kendra L. Bertolino.
