WAKEFIELD — A student at the Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational School on Hemlock Road went to School Resource Officer Michael Pietrantonio just after noontime yesterday and reported that someone had stolen his wallet, left on bleachers inside the school.
The boy’s wallet was later found, minus $50 in cash.
Police reviewed security footage of the area but there were no findings.

Police said an “exchange of words” between a couple and a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt led to an assault last night just before 8 at the 7-Eleven store on Albion Street.
The sweatshirt-clad man told Patrol Officer Joseph Lyons that he had been at the convenience store at about 7:45 p.m. and exchanged heated words with a woman and a man who appeared to be younger.
At one point while heading toward Richardson Avenue, either the man or woman grabbed hold of the hood of the man’s sweatshirt, said police.
After listening to the man’s story, police located the couple in front of St. Joseph Church on Albion Street. During questioning, Lyons heard a story opposite to the one the man told.
The incident is being investigated.

In other police business on Wednesday:
• A collision on Byron Street was reported at 9:30 a.m., but police soon learned it was an unfounded complaint.
• A collision at the corner of Montrose Avenue and Salem Street was reported at about 12:30 p.m. No citations were issued. Papers were exchanged. The Fire Department also responded.
• A minor collision took place at the intersection of Water and Vernon streets at about 1:15 p.m.
• Police issued one driver a citation following a crash on Main Street at about 6:30 p.m. It was not known if there were injuries.
• A loud house party on Main Street was reported at 10:50 p.m. Police said the complaint was unfounded.

A crew went to 27 Lawrence St. at 12:20 p.m. for a house lockout.
This morning, firefighters wen to 19 Fairmont Ave. to help clean up what was said to be a minor oil spill.
