MELROSE — Joan M. (Killam) Cabral, 89, a lifelong resident of Melrose, passed away on October 20, 2018.
Joan was born in Boston on December 19, 1937 to Frank and Catherine (Sullivan) Killam. She was raised in Melrose and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. Joan worked for Verizon for 32 years in the marketing department. She always had a smile and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Joan was the beloved wife of Edward J. Cabral of Melrose. Loving mother of James E. Cabral and his wife Laurie of Malden, and Catherine E. Leonard and her husband Steven of Stoneham. Proud grandmother of Bryce and Samantha Leonard and Elizabeth Bennett.
Visiting hours were held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Wed., Oct. 24. Family and friends gathered for the funeral procession at the Gately Funeral Home on Thurs., Oct. 25, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St., Melrose. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend.
