MELROSE — The Melrose Running Club regrets to announce that the 23rd annual 3.5-mile Melrose Run for Women, a Mother’s Day tradition, has been cancelled due to coronavirus safety precautions. We will miss gathering with the hundreds of women who gather each year to support each other and the Melrose Alliance Against Violence (MAAV) and hope to see everyone in 2021.

Please consider keeping the tradition alive by participating in your own virtual version of the Melrose Run for Women. Sometime in May, go for a run or a walk (wearing a shirt from a past race if you have one). Tag us and share your picture on social media using #2020MothersDayRun (Facebook: @MelroseRunforWomen, Twitter: @MRC_MRFW, Instagram: @Melroserunforwomen).

The event is one of the MAAV’s largest fundraisers of the year. If you are able, please consider a donation to MAAV in honor of a special woman in your life. The funds allow them to continue their prevention programs in the schools and to provide direct services to victims of domestic violence. Donations can be made at www.maav.org.
