WAKEFIELD — Alan R. Bursey, 68, a lifelong Wakefield resident, died on Sunday, Feb. 7, at the Winchester Hospital.

Born in Winchester on April 1, 1947, he was the son of the late George and Silvia (Hubbard) Bursey.

Mr. Bursey was raised and educated in Wakefield. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW in Maine. Mr. Bursey was a retired plumber for Cliff Giles Plumbing & Heating Company.

He was the loving father of Alan B. Bursey and his wife Nelie and Tobey M. Lamothe and her husband Brian all of Wakefield. Mr. Bursey was the former husband and best friend of Beverly Bursey Frautten and her husband John Frautten of Wakefield. He was the brother of Anne S. O’Neil and her husband Albert of Wakefield. Mr. Bursey was the devoted grandfather of Brittany, Breanna, Cody, Tommy and Chloe.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield on Friday at 11 a.m.
