WAKEFIELD — Alison Mavilia, 41, a lifelong Wakefield resident died on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a valiant battle with cancer.

Born in Concord on May 14, 1974, she was the daughter of Roberta J. Mavilia of Newburyport and the late Anthony Mavilia Jr.

Alison was a graduate of Wakefield High School where she was active in the Drama Club, cheerleading and gymnastics. She attended Massachusetts Communications College in Boston.

But her passion was health and beauty and she graduated from Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics and was a certified personal trainer in Boston.

Alison loved vacationing in sunny places and snuggling and watching TV with her daughter, shopping, fashion, Fleetwood Mac concerts and writing poetry.

In addition to her mother, Alison is survived by her daughter Danielle Benedetto; former partner Charlie Benedetto; her stepchildren Charlie Benedetto Jr. and Ariana Benedetto of Wakefield; her two brothers Michael Mavilia of Boston and Anthony Mavilia of Groton; her sister Angela Mavilia of New York and her beloved pet Pomchi, Wolfie.

The family would like to thank Rich Mangiante for his constant companionship throughout her illness and Pam Benedetto for all she has done for the family and for being like a sister to Alison and a heartfelt thank you to Charles Benedetto.

Her funeral will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday at
9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10 a.m.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
