WAKEFIELD — The Middlesex League boys’ indoor track and field coaches met at the end of the season to make this year’s All-Star selections in both the Freedom and Liberty divisions. 

Warriors filled up the list of All-Stars for the Freedom champion Wakefield Memorial High School. Ten individual athletes and two relay teams were selected as Freedom All-Stars. 

Senior Sam Morey was one of three named as an All-Star in the hurdles. Morey got first against Melrose and Watertown and second against Wilmington and Stoneham in the hurdles. 

Senior Henry Stikeman was named an All-Star in the 55 meter dash. Stikeman had three first-place finishes against Melrose, Burlington and Stoneham. 

Senior Patrick Redmond was best shot put thrower in the Freedom and the entire Middlesex League. Redmond took first in every regular season meet, and placed third in the D4 State Championship. 

Senior Riley Brackett was named an All-Star in the mile. One of Brackett’s best races of the season came against Watertown on Jan. 2 when he ran a personal-best 4:38.50 for first place. 

Senior Matt Greatorex also got an All-Star nod for the mile. Greatorex ran a variety of races depending on the opponent in the regular season but he got first in the mile against Wilmington and Burlington. Greatorex recently took 8th in All-States with a season-best 4:25.50. 

Senior Tommy Lucey was one of two Warrior representatives in the two mile. Two of Lucey’s highlights in the two mile came against Burlington (2nd) and Wilmington (1st). 

Junior Rohan Singhvi was the other All-Star for the two mile. Singhvi had two first-place finishes in the regular season against Melrose and Stoneham. 

Junior Brian Smith was selected as an All-Star in the 300 meters. Smith had plenty of first-place finishes in the 300 including the Wilmington, Melrose, Watertown and Stoneham meets. 

Junior Billy Stevens got the nod for an All-Star in the 1000 meters. During the regular season, Stevens took first against Stoneham and seconds against Wilmington. 

Sophomore Tanner Jellison was also named an All-Star in the 1000 meters. Jellison had first against Wilmington and Stoneham in the 1000 and also took first in the State Freshmen/Sophomore meet. 

The 4×400 relay team were named All-Stars. That team consisted of Greatorex, Stevens, Jellison and sophomore Trevor Zupan. 

The 4×200 relay team was one of two Freedom teams selected as an All-Star relay team. The 4×200 included senior Jared Hurley, sophomore Ryan Obear, junior Tommy Mottl and freshman Tucker Stikeman.
