DeCristoforoobit-webWAKEFIELD — Angelina Ruth DeCristoforo, 103, of Wakefield, formerly of Revere, died July 30 at the Rosewood Nursing & Rehab Center in Peabody.
Born in Boston on July 11, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Marie (Lepore) Mannetta.
Angelina had worked as a waitress for many years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed reading, singing and Bingo and was involved in all the activities at Rosewood; but her greatest enjoyment was her family, which she loved above all.
Angelina was the beloved wife of the late Raymond A. DeCristoforo. She was the loving mother of Doris DeSpirito of Saugus. She was the adoring grandmother of Donna McLaughlin and her husband John, Rosemarie O’Farrell and her husband David and Mark DeSpirito and his partner Sherry Ruan, all of Wakefield. She is also survived by four loving great-grandchildren: Christopher, Courtney, John Raymond and Brittany; as well as two great-great- grandchildren: Mason and Connor. She was predeceased by her siblings: Anthony Mannetta, Rose Blanchard, Elizabeth Montesanti and Mary Hegan.
Her funeral Mass will be held in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield prior to the Mass beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
Angelina’s family is extremely grateful to the nurses and staff at the Rosewood Nursing Home for their heartfelt care and compassion and professionalism over the past several weeks.
