Registered nurse

MELROSE — Ann Marie Barry, of Melrose, aged 90, passed away on May 2 at Melrose Wakefield Hospital. Ann was born on May 24, 1933. 

She was predeceased by her parents James Harrington and Rosella (McNamara); her brother James Harrington and his wife Jeanne (Gilgun); her brother John Harrington; and her grandson Brian Barry. Ann was raised in Malden, graduated from Girls Catholic High School and Boston City Hospital School of Nursing and worked at Boston City Hospital, Normandy House in Melrose and McFadden Manor in Malden. Ann was very proud of being a Registered Nurse. 

She was married to the late Jerome D. Barry, with whom she raised a family of four children. She leaves behind her daughters: Christine Zarzour and her husband Paul of Melrose and their children Olivia Tagan and her husband Matthew of Melrose and Madeleine Zarzour of Melrose; Louise Luczai and her husband Robert of Bedford and their children Katherine Luczai and her husband Eliot Martin of Bedford, Michael Luczai of Bedford and Neil Luczai of Bedford; Mary Marchant and her husband Michael of Stoneham and their children Daniel Marchant and his wife Abigail (Kopel) of Norton and their sons Emmett Marchant and Graham Marchant, Ryan Marchant of Arlington, Thomas Marchant of Stoneham and Evan Marchant and his fiance Caitrin White of Quincy; Daniel Barry and his wife Barbara (Guzzetti) of Belmont and their children Brendan Barry and Joseph Barry and her niece, Catherine (Harrington) Leonard and her husband Kevin of Tewksbury and lifelong friends Joanie Mitchell and Pat Ruane. Ann is also survived by many other dear nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 11 at Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Please meet directly at church.
