MELROSE — Karen M. Landry (Mason) passed away on May 1 in Melrose at the age of 73. She was born on July 30, 1950 in Swampscott to Marion and M. Fred Mason.

Karen is survived by her husband Ralph Landry, Jr.; her brother Robert Mason; and her in-laws Sheryl Mason; and Charles and Phyllis D’Entremont. She is also survived by her nephews Joseph, John and Richard Nerden; Craig D’Entremont; Robert Mason, Jr.; her niece Ricki Mason; numerous grand nieces and nephews; and eight great grand nieces and nephews. 

Karen was a dedicated career Accountant, having worked for organizations such as Little Sisters of the Assumption in Lynn and Bay State & Johnson Wholesale Florist in Woburn. She attended Swampscott High School graduating in 1968 and furthered her education at North Shore Community College earning her degree in 1972. 

Karen was a member of First Church Congregational in Swampscott. She found joy in quilting, creating beautiful quilts for each of her grand nephews and nieces, as well as her great grand nephews and nieces. Karen was known for her love for her family and her kind heart.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, May 5 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 6 at the Gately Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. Family and friends respectfully invited to attend.
