Loving grandmother loved to write poetry

Anna-White-Obit-webREADING — Anna H. White, 94, of Reading and formerly of North Reading, died at her home on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Herbert J. White.

Born in Melrose, on Sept. 26, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Frank Henry White and Mary Modeste (Frotten) White. She was raised in Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1941.

Anna was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. She has been a resident of Reading for the past three years. Anna loved to write poetry.

Family members include her loving sons, James White and his wife Jenna of Lake Havasu City, Ariz. and Richard White and his wife Phyllis of Simi Valley, Calif.; her daughter, Mary Colby and her late husband Bruce Colby of Peyton, Colo. and formerly of North Reading. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 20 great–grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading on Monday, Oct. 19 at 9 a.m., followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m.. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading.
