NORTH READING — Each year, North Reading Girls Softball is proud to offer scholarships to the graduating class. The league will be offing $500 awards for up to three graduating high school seniors who have matured through their youth softball program.
To be eligible, the student must be a senior graduating in the spring of 2020 but she does not necessarily have to be a graduate of North Reading High School. The applicant must have been registered in the North Reading Girls Softball program for at least four years. All submissions are reviewed and voted on the NRGS Board of Directors.
To apply, the student must write an essay describing each of the following (in any order):
• How have you given back to the youth league since you graduated from the program?
• The positive influence that softball has had on your high school experience
• How softball has helped prepare and shape you for your future endeavors
