Resident of town for 54 years

 

Cameron-Obit-webNORTH READING — Armelia A. “Millie” (Wills) Cameron – 87, of North Reading and formerly Sedalia, Missouri, died January 14, 2015, at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington.

Born in Sedalia, Missouri on January 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Chapman) Wills. Millie was a graduate of Somerville High School. She was a resident of North Reading for 54 years. She was a member of the Union Congregational Church and an active member, a former Past Matron and a grand representative of the Mount Carmel Chapter, No. 230, Order of Eastern Star.

Millie worked for Ryer’s Store in North Reading for 13 years and for the North Reading Public Schools Cafeteria.

She was a kind of lady who touched and enriched everyone she met. Hard working, kind, loving, funny, outgoing, witty and selfless. She attended the Sanborn Day Center in Reading, she enjoyed dancing, making crafts, socializing, country music (especially Reba McEntire, Eastern Star, playing the organ, friends–especially the special bond she and her granddaughter Erin shared (they were inseparable).

Family members include her loving son, John Cameron; cherished grandchildren, Colin and Erin Cameron, all of North Reading; nephews, Robert, Colin (Buddy) and William Cameron; nieces, Margaret (Peggy) Ansel, Susan Lemar and the late Linda Tripp. She was the sister of the late Juanita (Wills) Cameron, Gracie (Wills) Howell and William Wills.

Her memorial service will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow Street, North Reading on Thursday, January 22 at 8:00 p.m. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 5 to 7:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to: Sanborn Place Homecare & Day Service, 50 Bay State Road, Reading, MA 01867.
