WAKEFIELD — “Due to overwhelming demand and a wall to wall full house last night for First Thursday, we have extended the ‘Not Your Average Art Show” viewing hours to include Friday night from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.,” said Chris J. Carino, chairman of the Albion Cultural Exchange Committee.

“Not Your Average Art Show” features work from students and instructors of Create Artisan Studios and KidCasso intermingled with furniture and home art pieces from Fringe on Main, a retail store in Greenwood. The show features not only art inside but a Duck Tape colorful faux carpet entry, an Interactive Happiness Wall in the front lobby as well as a photo-booth, funky furniture and 3-D art imagery.

“The community response thus far has been impressive,” said AnnMarie Gallivan of Create Artisan Studios. “We had a line outside the door before we even opened last night” said Laura-Marie Seeberg Small of KidCasso.

The Albion Cultural Exchange fosters art, culture and commerce in downtown Wakefield.

First Thursday Downtown monthly art shows are paired up in the summer months with Plaza Jazz at the Wakefield Library which provides a great opportunity to spend the evening with multiple free events in the downtown area.
