WAKEFIELD – To continue WCAT’s longstanding commitment to neutrality toward all candidates running for office, in light of candidate Dan Benjamin’s appearance as the host of the July Fourth Independence Day parade program, Executive Director Tom Stapleton announced yesterday his offer of free air time to the five other Board of Selectmen candidates.

“Any candidate who wants to, can tape a program at WCAT to talk about their views and the issues,” said Stapleton, “We will then cablecast the program on a regular schedule on the government channel.”

Any candidate who is interested may contact either Tom or Studio Administrator Barbara Worley to schedule the taping.

A candidate may have up to two hours to express his/her views on issues important to Wakefield voters in the time leading up to the July 19 Special Election.
