LYNNFIELD — Arthur C. Funai, 96, of Lynnfield died on Thursday, May 12 at the Union Hospital in Lynn.
Born in Lynn on Sept. 3, 1919 he was the son of the late Cesare and Norina (Conte) Funai.
Mr. Funai was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1937. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus Valladolid Council #70 of Lynn as well as a life member of the North Shore Old Car Club and the Lynnfield Historical Society.
Mr. Funai was a retired mechanical engineer from General Electric in Lynn. He was a member of Saint Maria Goretti Church in Lynnfield.
He was the father of Nathan Funai of Lynn, Steven McDonough of Wakefield, N.H. and Donald McDonough and wife Heather of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Mr. Funai was the former husband of Janice L. (Sheppard) Funai of Reading. He was the brother of the late Henry Funai, Catherine Rowen and Gusta Lodi. Mr. Funai is also survived by five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two nieces and two nephews.
A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service starting at 4 p.m. Interment will be private.
