Resident of town for over 50 years
NORTH READING — Arthur N. Brogren Jr.,82, of North Reading and formerly of Dorchester, died on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014. He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia (Walsh) Brogren.
Born in Boston on June 2, 1932. He was the son of the late Arthur Nils Brogren and Domenica (Anastasi) Brogren. He attended Boston Public Schools and was a graduate of Boston Technical High School. He also took classes at Northeastern University, Boston University and Dartmouth College.
Arthur was vice president of the Messinger Insurance Company in Everett for many years. After his retirement he worked for Mahoney’s Garden Center in Winchester. He was a resident of North Reading over 50 years and a member of St. Theresa Church. Arthur served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for 12 years.
He had a love for photography, the outdoors, seashores, patriotism and a commitment to family. He enjoyed new cars, traveling around New England, the latest electronics and carpentry.
Family members include his loving daughters, Jean M. Dooley of Woburn and Carol A. Brogren of Stoneham; his grandchildren, Matthew R. Dooley and his fiancée Eliza Massie of Cambridge and Tracy D. Dooley of Woburn.
His funeral will be held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading on Friday, Nov. 21, at 9 a.m,, followed by a 11 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Theresa Church, 63 Winter St. (Rt. 62), North Reading. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral Mass from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
