LARGO, Florida — Arthur S. Jodrey, 84, of Largo, Fla., formerly of Melrose and Chelmsford, died at his home in Largo on Oct. 28, 2018.

Arthur was born and  raised in Everett and a graduate of Everett Vocational High School. In his younger years, Arthur worked as a machinist for the Standard Duplicator Co. in Everett. He resided in Melrose for 40 years, Chelmsford for several years and Florida since 2002. Arthur worked as a custodian for the Melrose High School and Melrose City Hall for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the Melrose Elks Club and enjoyed fishing, bingo, watching sports and the Boston Red Sox.

Arthur was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude M. (Leuci) Jodrey. Loving father of Charles W. Jodrey, Arthur W. Jodrey and his wife Kathleen, all of Fla., Peter W. Jodrey of N.H., Anna Maria Ross and her husband Richard of Haverhill and the late Michele R. Paone and her husband Vincent of Melrose. Cherished grandfather of Dylan, Derek, Nichole, Paul, Andrea and Theresa. Predeceased by nine siblings. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday, Nov. 8 from 4-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
