Rotondi-obit-webSTONEHAM — Assunta “Rose” (Ceglia) Rotondi, 102, passed away at the Arnold House Nursing Home in Stoneham on June 15.

Rose was born in Boston on Aug. 15, 1913 to the late Constantino and Filomena (Marrotta) Ceglia.

She was raised in the North End, East Boston and Medford and graduated from Medford High School in the Class of 1931. Mrs. Rotondi has been a resident of Melrose since 1933.

Rose was a homemaker, a founding member of Incarnation Church in Melrose and volunteered for many years in the gift shop at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest Rotondi. She was the loving mother of Marie J. Crocetti and her husband Charles of Boston, William Rotondi and his wife Madeline of Melrose, Donna Pinto and her husband Stephen of Newton, Paula Rotondi and her husband Michael Crum of Washington, Ernest Rotondi and his wife Ann Marie of Norwood and the late Roberta Banfield. She was the sister of Rita Brown of New Hampshire and Terri Forcade of Colorado. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, June 22, from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a funeral service at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Interment at St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.
