WAKEFIELD, N.H. — Barbara Trafton, 95, of Wakefield, N.H., passed away April 27, in Rochester, N.H. following a brief illness.

Born in Sanbornville, N.H., in 1920, Barbara was the wife of the late N. Parker Trafton, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. She was the mother of R. Bradley Trafton and wife Elaine of Rochester, N.H. and Robert P. Trafton and his wife Sheila of Lynnfield. She was the grandmother of Stephen Trafton, Stephanie Auclair, Scott Trafton and Sarita Sheltry of New Hampshire and the late Barbara Trafton DeMarco and James Trafton of Lynnfield. She was grandmother of 10 and is survived by several great-grandchildren.

She was a graduate on Rochester High School, Rochester, N.H. (1938), and attended Wentworth-Douglas Hospital, Dover, N.H., where she was capped in 1939. She worked for many years at Huggins Hospital, Wolfeboro, N.H.

She was a direct descendent of John Hanson, First President of the Continental Congress of the United States under the Articles of Confederation. He was the first of eight men serving in this position prior to George Washington.

Services have been held. Burial was in Lovell Lake Cemetery, Sanbornville, N.H.
