Zaversonobit-webPEABODY — Barbara Dustin (Corson) Zaverson, 95, of Peabody and formerly of Wakefield, passed away on Sunday morning at the Continuing-Care Facility at Brooksby Village following a brief illness.

She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph G. Zaverson.

Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Vesta May (Jangraw) Corson. She was raised and educated in Melrose, later lived in Wakefield for 26 years and has spent the last six years living in Peabody.

Barbara enjoyed square dancing and round dancing, ballroom dancing and line dancing. She also loved bicycling with her beloved Joe.

She is survived by her three sons: Paul Zaverson of Toronto, Canada, Kurt Zaverson of Tigard, Ore. and Charles Zaverson of Hudson, N.H.; her four daughters, Claudia Murphy of Boxborough, Martha Celestres of Kent, Wash., Elaine Zaverson of Wakefield and Bonnie Marsan of Haverhill; and her sister, Jacqueline Lauriat of Shelton, Conn. Four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive her.

Barbara’s funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 until 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake Street, Peabody.
